About

I’m a freelance writer of scripts, books and plays.

My stage adaptation of Jason & The Argonauts is touring Wales spring 2017, co-produced by RCT Theatres and Blackwood Miners’ Institute. I’ve worked on several projects for National Theatre Wales, including writing The Bulletin for Roald Dahl’s City Of The Unexpected (2016).

Other work for family audiences includes  Here Be Monsters (Theatr Iolo) and two UK-touring stage adaptations for The Birmingham Stage Company: Horrible Histories: The Frightful First World War (nominated for a Manchester Evening News award, Best Family Show) and Horrible Science. Both plays were based on the best-selling books published by Scholastic.

My debut novel Sleepless Knights was nominated for the 2014 Mythopoeic Fantasy Award. (“A delightful addition to the Arthurian canon” – Publisher’s Weekly.)

I’ve worked with the Courtyard Hereford, the Sherman Theatre Company / Sherman Cymru,  Desperate Men Theatre Company, Citrus Arts / Walk The Plank and Welsh National Opera (for Opera Max: 9 Stories High).

I’ve written extensively for radio, including My Dog’s Got No Nose, Weekend Film Matinee and My Kind Of Wales for BBC Wales, and The Bethan & Huw Show for BBC Radio One.

Television work includes the sketch show Lucky Bag, and I was a sitcom finalist in the inaugural BBC Talent scheme. TV work for BBC Wales includes commissions for  two episodes of CBBC’s Wizards Vs Aliens and online material for Series 3, and creating and developing Screengrab, an online drama series.

Work in progress includes: a new play for Dirty Protest Theatre Company, New Hope;  my second novel, and a TV project developed with producer Derek Ritchie.

I’m represented by Lucy Fawcett at Sheil Land Associates Ltd.
